Save Khaki United, or S.K.U manufactures all its clothing in the United States and has three stores in New York City — NoHo, the West Village and the Upper East Side. This T-shirt is 90 percent cotton and 10 percent polyester. It comes in three colors.

As the name suggests, Madewell focuses on quality. This T-shirt has a soft cotton fabric that has a draped effect. It can only be purchased online and comes in 11 colors.

Everlane, almost exclusively an online retailer, has affordable but quality T-shirts in a huge array of colors and styles. The Cotton V Tee is made from 100 percent cotton in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

Los Angeles-based James Perse is one of the original designers to focus on T-shirts. This tee is 90 percent cotton and 10 percent cashmere so the fabric is extremely soft and comfortable. Colors are beige, light gray, dark gray and black.
