HARLEM – A couple’s home was burglarized while they slept last week, police said.

A 27-year-old East Harlem man and his wife awoke on Aug. 12 at about 7 a.m. to find their bedroom window wide open and their apartment ransacked and items missing, police said.

The sleeping couple told police their window was closed when they went to bed, but was unlocked.

While they slept, a suspect entered the home near East 118th Street and Second Avenue through the unlocked window, police said.

The suspect took off with a MacBook Pro, a PlayStation 4, an iPhone 4, an external computer hard drive, $500, a book bag, a wallet, a Polaroid camera, an identification card and the victim’s credit cards, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.
