Peppa's Jerk Chicken to Open Second Location in Crown Heights This Summer

CROWN HEIGHTS — One of Brooklyn’s best jerk chicken spots is spreading its wings to a second location in Crown Heights.

Peppa’s, a favorite of Caribbean food lovers for decades, has operated on Flatbush and Clarkson avenues since 2004, said co-owner Jessica Hussey, the daughter of the shop’s founder.

Now, Peppa’s is planning another restaurant at 791 Prospect Place off Nostrand Avenue, bringing their menu of chicken, fish, oxtail and curry to Crown Heights.

The new spot will open by the end of the month, Hussey said, operating from 10 a.m. to 2 a.m. seven days a week. Like the Flatbush Avenue location, the restaurant will offer mostly take-out service with limited seating.

Hussy said her customers, who travel from all over the New York area to get her father’s cooking, have for years been clamoring for another Peppa’s.

“We would get people from Virginia … all over the tri-state and from Long Island sometimes,” she said.

“We’re excited to be serving the neighborhood some good food,” she added.

The original Peppa’s is located at 738 Flatbush Ave. on the border of Prospect-Lefferts Gardens and Flatbush. For more information about the new Crown Heights location, follow Peppa’s on Instagram.
