HARLEM — He’s no Ashton Kutcher.

A man was robbed at an East Harlem subway station last week by a suspect claiming it was a filmed prank, police said.

Craig Thomas, 29, was charged with fourth-degree grand larceny after he snatched a headset from a 24-year-old man on Aug. 1 at about 6 p.m., according to police.

The victim was walking down the stairwell of the 6 train at East 116th and Lexington Ave, when Thomas pushed him from behind and forcibly removed the man’s headset, police said.

Thomas then fled northbound on Lexington Avenue, police said.

The victim alerted transit police at the station who performed a canvas of the area, police said.

Thomas was found in a stairwell at the subway station. He apparently informed officers that the incident was a YouTube prank.

“It was a prank, I make videos on YouTube,” Thomas said, according to police.

Thomas was arraigned on Aug. 2 and bail was set at $5,000 cash or $15,000 bond, according to the criminal complaint.

Thomas’ attorney, Lizzie-Anne Beal, was out of the office and could not be reached for comment Friday.
