BROOKLYN — A homeless man who hurled a glass bottled at a toddler in Sunset Park during a street fight was arrested Wednesday, a day after the daylight brawl, police said.

Jorge Cayetano, 33, was shirtless and fighting with another man when they spilled out of Gold Star Supermarket on Fifth Avenue near 60th Street about 9:20 a.m. and Cayetano hurled a glass beer bottle at him, NYPD officials said.

But instead of striking his target, the errant bottle crashed into the face of a 3-year-old boy in a stroller being pushed by his mom, leaving the toddler with a bloody gash over his right eye, police and witnesses said.

The boy was treated and at Lutheran Medical Center for minor injuries and was released, according to police and family.

Cayetano fled the scene and managed to evade police, who launched a manhunt using search dogs, officials said. They finally spotted him about 11:15 a.m. Wednesday standing outside 830 Eighth Ave. in Park Slope and took him in to custody, an NYPD spokesman said.

Police did not immediately have the charges against Cayetano.

But Cayetano has had frequent run-ins with police and many neighbors said he frequently harasses passersby.

"Everybody knows him. Everybody's tired of this guy. He bothers everybody in the street," Althera said.
