GREENWICH VILLAGE — A woman was mugged on Bleecker Street by a man demanding money to get to Philadelphia, police said.

Police said the 36-year-old man came up behind the woman in front of 203 Bleecker St. at about 6:20 a.m. on Aug. 6 and said he had a knife in his pocket and needed money to get to the Pennsylvania city.

The woman was terrified, police said, and gave him two $20 bills and ran away northbound on Sixth Avenue. She was uninjured.

She later identified the man to police, the NYPD said. A knife was never found and the money wasn't recovered.

The man was arrested and charged with felony robbery in the third degree. He is currently being held at Manhattan Detention Complex on bail of $15,000 bond or $7,500 cash.

His attorney did not immediately respond to a voicemail seeking comment. He is due back in court on Aug. 11.
