EAST VILLAGE — Salad chain Sweetgreen will soon be slinging its quick and healthy lunches for East Village residents and NYU students.
The health food spot will open its 11th New York City location at 10 Astor Place between Broadway and Lafayette Street on Aug. 22.
Seasonal summer offerings now on the menu include the Peach + Goat Cheese Salad with organic mesclun, organic baby spinach, basil, toasted almonds, local peaches, local goat cheese, and balsamic vinaigrette, and the Watermelon + Feta Salad with organic arugula, shredded kale, cucumbers, watermelon, mint, spicy sunflower seeds, heirloom tomatoes, local feta and cider vinaigrette.
Sweetgreen is also slated to open a new shop in the Meatpacking District at 32 Gansevoort St., though an exact opening date is not known. A Wall Street location opened last month.
The shop, which boasts locally-sourced ingredients, was first launched in Washington, D.C. in 2007 and has since expanded to New York, Boston, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.
