GREENWICH VILLAGE — An employee at Ben's Pizzeria was threatened with a box cutter, police said.

A 42-year-old man walked into the pizza place at 123 MacDougal St. about 11:03 p.m. on July 31 and got into an argument with an employee, police said.

The man brandished a box cutter, said, "I'm going to f--- you up and kill you," then slammed the weapon on the counter in front of the employee, police said.

Police said the employee was afraid for his safety, but was not injured.

An NYPD officer with the 6th Precinct recovered a box cutter from the man's back left pocket, police said.

The man had a previous criminal conviction in New York State, police said. He was arrested and charged with criminal possession of a weapon and is being held at the Manhattan Detention Complex on bail of $3,000 cash or $6,000 bond. His attorney did not immediately respond to a voicemail seeking comment.
