PARK SLOPE — A local business owner is hoping a $200 gift card will help track down a pair of baby-faced vandals who looked right into a security camera after defacing a mural outside his store.

Kevin Rosenberg, owner of Gear To Go Outfitters, is offering the reward to help catch two taggers who defaced a painting of the store's logo on the corner of Garfield Place and Seventh Avenue.

"Help us catch these idiots who tagged our mural and then looked right into our security cameras," Rosenberg wrote on Facebook.

The clip shows two young men in front of the store's mural on July 30 at 12:24 a.m. One of the taggers scrawled "Krypto" in black paint marker while the other stood guard, the video shows. As the two leave the scene, they both look at the security camera and the accomplice appears to smile.

Rosenberg reported the incident to local police. He said he recognizes the taggers as "local kids" and hopes the gift card reward will generate tips.

Taggers left the word "Krypto" on a mural outside Gear to Go Outfitters.

Gear To Go Outfitters sells gear for hiking and camping and rents equipment for outdoor trips. Rosenberg, a U.S. Navy vet who lives in Park Slope, started the business as a street kiosk in 2009, then moved into a small space on Garfield Place near Seventh Avenue in 2011.

Earlier this year, Gear To Go expanded and took over the former Palma Chemist space on the corner of Seventh Avenue and Garfield.
