$913-Per-Month Studios Up for Grabs at New Hudson Yards High-Rise

HUDSON YARDS — Applications are now open for nearly 50 affordable apartments at a Hudson Yards high-rise, with rents starting at $913 for a studio.

One-bedrooms will go for $980 per month and two-bedrooms will go for $1,183 per month at 509-515 W. 38th St., between 10th and 11th avenues

Construction at the 30-story, mixed-use tower recently topped off, CityRealty reported.

The building is offering 46 affordable units, with the following income requirements:

► Fifteen studio apartments are available to one-person households earning between $32,640 and $38,100 per year.

► Twenty-five one-bedroom apartments are available to one-person households earning between $34,972 and $38,100 per year, or two-person households earning between $34,972 and $43,500.

► Six two-bedroom apartments are available to two-person households earning between $41,966 and $43,500 per year, three-person households earning between $41,966 and $48,960, and four-person households earning between $41,966 and $54,360.

The monthly rent also includes gas for cooking and heating.

The building’s lobby will be attended 24/7, and there will be an on-site resident manager.

Residents who pay additional fees will be able to use the building’s gym, resident lounge, roof deck and “music jam room,” the city said.

Preference for 50 percent of the units will go to residents of Manhattan Community Board 4, which covers Chelsea and Hell's Kitchen.

Municipal employees, mobility-disabled applicants and vision- or hearing-impaired applicants will also receive preference.

Applicants can apply online or request a mail-in application by sending a self-addressed envelope to West 38th Street Apartments, 1357 Broadway, Box 309, New York, NY 10018.

Residents will be selected through a lottery and interview process.

The last day to apply is Oct. 4.
