VIDEO: Man in MTA Uniform Mugs Subway Rider in Harlem, NYPD Says

WEST HARLEM — A man wearing an MTA uniform robbed a straphanger on a Manhattan subway platform, police said.

The suspect held a sharp object to the 55-year-old man’s throat, then fled from the 125th Street A, B, C, D subway station with his victim's backpack at 4 a.m. on July 26, police said.

The suspect was seen on surveillance footage wearing a blue MTA shirt and buying a MetroCard at the station, police said.

The 55-year-old man suffered minor injuries but declined medical attention, police said.

Police described the suspect as an approximately 40-year-old man who is 5-foot-7, weighs about 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a blue MTA shirt, blue jeans and black and white sneakers.
