BEDFORD-STUYVESANT — A popular vegan bakery has expanded into a new outpost on Classon Avenue.

Clementine Bakery, located on the border of Bedford-Stuyvesant and Clinton Hill, set up its new shop at 395 Classon Ave. on the corner of Greene Avenue, replacing the former Nero Doro Italian eatery.

The business will continue to operate at its original 500-square-foot spot around the corner at 299 Greene Ave., serving as Clementine’s wholesale and baking site, according to general manager Marcella Maki.

The new café space on Classon opened on July 22 and has seating for about 30 people, Maki added.

Clementine also boasts an expanded menu, as first reported by Brokelyn, and will continue to bring new additions.

The bakery has added fresh-pressed juices, along with new salads, quinoa bowls and a “toast of the day” option, Maki said.

Customers can get their fill of muffins, brownies and cupcakes, including flavors like lemon crisp coconut, gluten-free mixed berry and peanut butter chocolate chip.

“Business is really growing,” she said of the bakery that opened in 2012.

“We’re a good neighborhood café, we’re a place to come for vegan options whether you’re vegan or not, it’s a place we want to be available to everyone. We’re excited to be in this space.”
