GREENWICH VILLAGE — A 63-year-old woman was threatened by another woman wielding a wrench and demanding $20 in the middle of the afternoon in the Village, police said.

The 33-year-old assailant, wearing black shorts and turquoise sandals, approached the woman in front of 354 Sixth Ave. about 1:55 p.m. on July 20, police said.

She asked her for $10 or $20, and the woman declined to hand over the money, police said.

Police said the younger woman then grabbed the older woman's shoulder bag, held a wrench to her stomach and said, "Are you going to make me get my boyfriend?"

The older woman took out her wallet and gave the younger woman a $20 bill, police said.

The younger woman was arrested but the money wasn't recovered, according to police.

The woman was charged with felony robbery and a judge set her bail at $3,000 cash or $15,000 bond. She is currently being held on Rikers Island, according to Department of Corrections Records.

Her next court date is Aug. 4. Her defense attorney did not immediately respond to a voicemail seeking comment.
