Man Shot and Killed Outside Brevoort Houses, Police Say

BED-STUY — A man was shot to death outside the Brevoort Houses early Saturday morning, police said. 

Officers responded to reports of a shooting outside of 340 Bainbridge St. around 1:20 a.m. Saturday morning, where they found Bed-Stuy resident Charles Byrd, 26, with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, according to police.

Byrd was rushed to nearby Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

Byrd was on his way to pick up his 3-year-old daughter from his mother's apartment when he was shot, according to the Daily News.

Police do not yet have a suspect in the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.
