WEST VILLAGE — A new eatery is bringing a "French bistro meets beach club" vibe and seafood to Sixth Avenue.

Seabird opened at 361 6th Ave. on July 27, a joint venture from the owners of the Lower East Side Mediterranean eatery Mezetto and the East Harlem French chicken-focused restaurant Mountain Bird.

Mezetto chef Bahr Rapaport and Mountain Bird chef Kenichi Tajima are co-chefs at the new restaurant, with a menu that features three kinds of mac and cheese, including a $12 "crab lasagna mac and cheese."

The menu also has burgers and sandwiches like a lamb burger with spicy feta for $12 and a crispy fish burger of breaded haddock with malt vinegar for $11, and salads that include a $19 grill octopus salad.

The spot also has a raw bar with $9 salmon poke, six oysters for $14 with harissa mignonette and branzino carpaccio with mint and jalapeño for $10, along with typical fare like shrimp, jumbo lump crab and lobster cocktail ranging from $12 to $19.

Samplers include an array of six oysters, conch ceviche and four shrimp cocktail for $28 or a dozen oysters, conch ceviche, shrimp cocktail, jumbo lump crab, lobster cocktail and seafood salad for $65.

The 1,000-square-foot restaurant, decorated in beachy navy blue and cream with white marble and walnut wood, seats 40 to 50 people in the main dining area and has an outdoor patio with room for an additional 28.

Lunch and dinner are served daily, and food can be taken away from the to-go counter and window. Brunch service is expected in the coming weeks.
