MANHATTAN — Two anti-terrorism transit officers arrested a man for carrying a loaded gun onto a 6 train after they spotted him enter the station without paying his fare on Friday, according to the NYPD.
Officers Jose Garcia and Alex Almonte saw 26-year-old Jamil Collier shimmy his way through a turnstile at the East 116th Street station at about 10:40 a.m., police said.
They followed him onto a northbound 6 train and ordered him to get off.
Collier, of East Harlem, refused to comply and the officers handcuffed him on the platform, police said.
When they searched Collier, they found a .380 handgun with six rounds in the magazine.
Collier was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, theft of service, criminal trespass and disorderly conduct by police.
