MIDTOWN — "A" is for axed!
Three longtime cast members — Gordon, Luis and Bob — on the children's show, "Sesame Street," have been let go, according to multiple reports.
Bob McGrath, Emilio Delgado and Roscoe Orman got their pink slips, according to reports.
McGrath, 84, joined the cast in 1969 and played Bob the music teacher. Delgado, 76, was added in 1971 to play Luis, according to the New York Daily News. Orman, 72, became part of the cast in 1974, playing Gordon.
The show partnered with HBO in January, according to the News.
"The show has gone under a major turn around, going from an hour to a half-hour. HBO has gotten involved also. And they let all of the original cast members go, with the exception of Alan Muraoka — who is probably 20 years younger than the rest of us — and Chris Knowings, who is also young," McGrath said at Florida Supercon, according to reports.
Reactions on Twitter were swift.
