BROOKLYN — Brooklyn residents will be able to get a sneak peek of the impending L train shutdown when the MTA does Fastrack maintenance work on the line overnight during the first three weeks of August.

Service will be suspended in both directions between Lorimer Street and Broadway Junction between 10 p.m. and 5 a.m. Monday nights through Thursday nights from Aug. 1 through Aug. 19, according to the MTA.

Service will run in two sections: between Canarsie and Broadway Junction and between Eighth Avenue and Lorimer Street.

Free shuttle buses will provide alternate service.

Riders can transfer to the G line at Lorimer or use the A or J lines to and from Broadway Junction.

MTA workers will use the time to do extensive maintenance work and clean stations.

Service will shut down between Bedford Avenue and Eighth Avenue for 18 months starting in 2019 to make post-Hurricane Sandy repairs to the Canarsie Tunnel.
