SOUTH BRONX — A reputed member of the Latin Kings was sentenced to 10 years behind bars Wednesday in the death of a teenager on the cusp of graduating from high school, roughly two weeks after his partner was sentenced for the same crime.

Eric Landron, 26, was sentenced after pleading guilty to manslaughter in the death of 17-year-old Alphonza Bryant III, who was fatally shot at 1159 Fox St. on April 22, 2013, in an attack that prosecutors described as a random act of violence meant to send a message to rival gang members.

Former Mayor Michael Bloomberg thrust Bryant's death into the spotlight roughly one week later by mentioning it in a speech about the dangers of limiting police powers like stop-and-frisk.

Raul Pacheco was sentenced to 18 years behind bars for the shooting on July 14, while Landron received 10 years behind bars and five years of post-release supervision, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
