TIMES SQUARE — A Chelsea Market Mexican eatery is bringing its tacos to Times Square.
Los Tacos No. 1 will open its first brick-and-mortar outpost at 229 W. 43rd St., between Seventh and Eighth avenues, real estate firm Kushner Companies said in a release.
The restaurant is moving into the former New York Times building this coming winter, the release said.
“...[W]e’re thrilled to expand to this timeless location,” restaurant co-founder Christian Pineda said in a statement. “New York finally has an authentic taco to show off to visitors from around the world, and Times Square is the perfect place to do it.”
Pineda and two friends launched Los Tacos No. 1 after moving to the city from the West Coast, the eatery’s website says.
Its Chelsea Market location serves grilled steak, grilled chicken, grilled cactus and marinated pork tacos and tostadas ranging in price from $3.25 to $3.75, among other items.
“The authentic taste comes from family recipes and from fresh, simple and tasteful ingredients straight from home,” the site adds.
