
MIDTOWN SOUTH — A man pulled out a box cutter and threatened to kill two passersby after they confronted him for yelling anti-gay slurs, the NYPD said.
A 21-year-old man and a 22-year-old man were near West 33rd Street and Eighth Avenue around 1:25 p.m. on July 11 when the suspect started shouting homophobic slurs at them, police said.
After the pair confronted him, the man took out a box cutter and threatened to kill them, the NYPD said.
He fled into Penn Station after the men called 911, police said.
Police described the suspect as approximately 40 years old, standing 5-foot-7 and weighing 180 pounds. He was last seen wearing a green shirt, dark pants and glasses, the NYPD said.
