LONGWOOD — A Bronx man fatally beat a 68-year-old acquaintance in a fight over money, police said.
Eric Rodriguez, 36, pummeled David Tirado, who he felt owed him money, and threatened him with a gun on July 3 in front of 679 Fox St. around 4:40 p.m., according to the NYPD.
Tirado came to the 41st Precinct on July 4 to report the assault and went to Jacobi Hospital on July 5 to get treated for injuries to his ribs, police said.
He passed away from his injuries on July 19, and his death was ruled a homicide after an examination by the Medical Examiner's Office, according to the NYPD.
