HELL’S KITCHEN — A diner was arrested for breaking dishes at an Italian restaurant and refusing to pay his bill, the NYPD said.

The 24-year-old patron was eating at La Vela Dining & Bar at 558 11th Avenue, between West 42nd and  43rd streets, around 9 p.m. on July 17, when the incident occurred, police said.

At some point during his meal, the man started smashing dishes at the eatery and refused to pay his $52.82 tab, the NYPD said.

He was arrested after leaving the restaurant, police said.

The restaurant’s manager could not immediately be reached for comment Friday.

Other notable crimes this week in Chelsea's 10th Precinct include:

► A 22-year-old man was arrested at the northwest corner of West 22nd Street and Ninth Avenue around 4 a.m. on July 15 after a police officer spotted him driving a black Toyota the wrong way down Ninth Avenue. “I had five drinks,” the man told the officer. He had BAC of 0.14, the NYPD said.

► A 27-year-old man caused a three-car accident after he drove through a red light at the northwest corner of West 15th Street and 10th Avenue around 6:30 a.m. on July 15. When police arrived at the scene, the man smelled of alcohol and had “watery, bloodshot eyes,” the NYPD said. The man, who had a 0.14 BAC, was arrested.
