BUSHWICK — Five men robbed two different people at gunpoint near the Dekalb Avenue L train stop, according to police.
Both robberies took place on June 22 within minutes of one another, just after 2 a.m., police said.
Inside the Dekalb Avenue L stop, five men circled around a 21-year-old man, shoved him to the ground, punched him and kicked him in the face, police said. One of the men flashed a handgun, the victim told police.
After the beating, they snatched the man's cell phone and wallet, which had his debit card and $70 cash inside, police said.
Moments later, within a block of the station near the intersection of Stanhope Street and Wyckoff Avenue, a similar robbery occurred where five men approached a 25-year-old and one of them took out a handgun.
They demanded money from the victim and made off with his cell phone, debit card and $400 cash, police said.
They then fled the scene westbound on Stanhope Street, according to police.
Surveillance cameras captured footage of four of the men, all of whom were thought to be in their late teens to early twenties.
