BENSONHURST — A pregnant woman who tumbled onto the tracks of the 71st Street subway station Thursday morning was pulled to safety with the help of a team of good Samaritans, officials said.

The woman, whose name and age weren't immediately released, was on the northbound platform of the D train in the station near New Utrecht Avenue about 8:40 a.m. when she tumbled onto the tracks, NYPD and MTA officials said.

Some fellow straphangers leaped into the tracks to help pull her out, an MTA spokeswoman said.

She'd been rescued by the time police arrived, an NYPD spokesman said.

She complained of a head injury and was treated at Lutheran Medical Center, officials said.

Investigators don't believe her fall involved any criminality, police said.
