Rego Park Man Robbed of $75,000 of Jewelry at Gunpoint, Police Say

QUEENS — A man was robbed of $75,000 worth of jewelry at gunpoint Monday night just outside of his house in Rego Park, police said.

The 44-year-old victim arrived at his home on 63rd Drive near Carlton Street around 10:10 p.m. and parked his car in the driveway when he was approached by a woman and a man with a black gun who said: “Don’t move, don’t scream, give me the bag,” police said.

The victim complied, police said.

The robbers took the bag, which contained necklaces, rings and bracelets, as well as victim’s wallet with his credit cards and fled northbound on Carlton Street in white sedan, possibly a Subaru, police said.

According to JPUpdates, which first reported the robbery, the victim was a jeweler.

It appears that the victim was targeted, authorities said.
