L Train Briefly Suspended Between Manhattan and Brooklyn, MTA Says

MANHATTAN — The L train was briefly suspended Monday morning between Manhattan and Brooklyn while the FDNY investigated a report of smoke in the First Avenue station, officials said.

The FDNY was called a few minutes after 9 a.m. and responded to the station on 14th Street, a spokesman said.

Service on the L was suspended between First Avenue and Third Avenue, the MTA said.

The FDNY cleared the scene by 9:42 a.m. and L train service resumed about ten minutes later, officials said.

There were no reported injuries, an FDNY spokesman said.
