Man Critically Injured in Shooting on Steinway Street, Police Say

ASTORIA — A man is in critical condition after being shot in the neck during an argument on Steinway Street Sunday.

The two suspects involved in the shooting are still at large, according to the NYPD.

The 23-year-old victim was fighting with two men on the street near 28th Avenue shortly after 4 a.m. Sunday when one of the assailants handed a gun to the other, police said.

The second suspect fired several rounds at the victim, shooting him once in the neck, according to police. The injured man was taken to Elmhurst Hospital in critical condition.

The two suspects fled south on Steinway Street, police said.

The first is described as between 20 and 30 years old, 5-foot-10 and 220 pounds, wearing a white T-shirt and red shorts, according to police.

The second suspect is between 5-foot-10 and 6-feet tall, 200 and 220 pounds and was seen wearing a light-colored baseball hat, black T-shirt and dark pants.
