THE BRONX — A teenage boy has been arrested for sexually assaulting a 13-year-old Bronx girl at knifepoint inside her apartment Thursday afternoon, police said Sunday.

A shirtless suspect, alleged to be Garry Pinkney, 17, followed the girl into the elevator of her Claremont Village apartment building near Jennings Street and Intervale Avenue at around 1 p.m. Thursday, and started talking to the victim, according to surveillance video.

Pinkney then coerced her into letting him into the apartment by asking her to use her bathroom, and when she told him to use the one in the laundry room, he angrily responded, "I don't need to do laundry," according to court documents.

When they reached the victim's apartment, Pinkney used the bathroom and asked her for a glass of water, and when she turned around with the water, he had a knife out and demanded to know where her mother kept the money, the victim told police.

He then forced her to perform oral sex, attempted to rape her, stole her backpack and fled eastbound on Jennings Street, warning her not to snitch, police and court documents said.

Pinkney was charged with attempted rape, robbery, burglary and a criminal sex act, according to police.

He was arraigned on Sunday night and is due back in court on July 22, according to the Bronx District Attorney's Office.
