WASHINGTON HEIGHTS — The body of a New York University senior who had been missing since Sunday was recovered from the Hudson River near the George Washington Bridge on Thursday morning, police said.

Patrick Healey, 21, who was a mathematics major at the College of Arts and Science, was found at approximately 11:02 a.m., police said. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Healey, who lived on the Upper West Side and was staying in New York City for the summer for an internship, was last seen Sunday, July 10, police and university officials said. He was officially reported missing Wednesday.

“Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones,” said NYU spokesman John Beckman. “The University is making counselors available to support those affected.”

Friends posted out their condolences on Twitter, retweeting several of Healey's final posts from Sunday afternoon and evening, including one where he wrote, "I like to think that in Heaven we get to re-live our favorite memories over and over again."

The Running Academy of Danbury, Conn., where Healy grew up, wrote, "Counselors and campers, take care of yourselves. We will miss you Pat .#RIPPathealey."

Police said the investigation is ongoing. The Medical Examiner's office said they've investigating the cause of death and had no information to report as of Friday afternoon.
