QUEENS — Police have arrested a 22-year-old suspect who they say fatally shot a Jamaica man in May, authorities said.

Teimel Morris, of Brooklyn, was arrested on Wednesday night and charged with murder and criminal possession of a firearm, police said.

He is accused of killing Edward Harris, 28, who was shot twice in the head on May 6 just after 9 p.m. in front of 107-24 Union Hall St., between 107th and 108th avenues, near York College in Jamaica.

Harris, who lived two blocks away from where the shooting took place, succumbed to his injuries six days later at Jamaica Hospital, police said.

Police sources said that Morris and Harris had a year-long feud because Morris was making fun of Harris’ brother who sources said struggled with some developmental issues.

“This case is tragically another example of a young life being lost to the senselessness of gun violence," Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said in a statement. "By the defendant’s alleged lethal actions, he has shown himself to have a complete disregard for human life and is therefore a danger to society.”

Morris had eight prior arrests dating back to 2010, including for robbery in 2011, police said.

The victim also had a long list of run-ins with the law, including 21 priors dating back to 2001, mostly drug-related, police said.

Morris was arraigned on Thursday afternoon, according to the Queens District Attorney's office, and if convicted, he faces up to 25 years to life in prison.

He was ordered held without bail and is scheduled to return to court on July 19.

Morris' attorney was not immediately available for comment.
