TIMES SQUARE — A CD hawker swiped a $10 bill from a man’s wallet after he and several other sellers surrounded the victim in Times Square, the NYPD said.

Sean Wright, 44, was peddling CDs in front of 1552 Broadway, at the corner of West 46th Street and Seventh Avenue, around 11 a.m. on July 7 when he and a group of fellow sellers circled a 52-year-old New Jersey man and started asking him to buy one, a complaint filed with the Manhattan District Attorney’s office said.

After the victim took his wallet out, Wright grabbed a $10 bill from inside without the man’s permission, the DA’s office said.

Police officers who saw the hawkers selling CDs outside Times Square’s new designated activity zones approached the group were told of the crime, the NYPD said.

When they tried to arrest him, Wright flailed his arms to avoid being cuffed, police said.

He was charged with grand larceny, pick-pocketing and fraudulent accosting, the complaint said.

A judge agreed to supervised release for Wright, who will next appear in court on Sept. 19, the DA’s office said.

An attorney for Wright did not respond to a request for comment.
