ST. GEORGE — A man was held down and slashed by two people after an argument on the Staten Island Ferry, a law enforcement source said.

The 30-year-old victim was riding the 12:30 a.m. ferry from Manhattan to Staten Island on Sunday when he got into an argument with Marcus Temple, 23, and Isaiah John, 25, on the boat, the source said.

The fight turned physical once the boat docked and Temple allegedly held the victim down near the taxi stands at the St. George Ferry Terminal while John took out a boxcutter and slashed the man multiple times in the back of his left shoulder and right thigh, the source said.

The victim was taken to Richmond University Medical Center, treated and released, a spokesman for the District Attorney said.

Temple and John were arrested for the slashing and arraigned on assault charges, the DA's office said. John was also charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

John's bail was set at $50,000 bond, $20,000 cash and he's due back in court on Friday, according to online court records.

He was previously convicted of assault in 2012, according to court documents.

John's lawyer could not be reached for comment.

Temple was released without bail and is due back in court on Friday, according to online court records.

His lawyer did not respond to a request for comment.
