CHELSEA — A building superintendent repeatedly punched a 71-year-old tenant in the face and covered her face with a plastic bag after the two got into a fight over trash in the building, the NYPD said.

The victim, who lives in a building on West 21st Street between Eighth and Ninth avenues, was throwing out her trash in the basement around 7:35 a.m. on July 7 when she got into an argument with the super, police said.

At some point during the dispute, the 35-year-old building worker dragged the woman into a hallway in the basement, put his knee on her chest and punched her in the face “repeatedly,” the NYPD said.

He also obstructed her breathing by putting a plastic bag over her face, the woman told police.

When officers arrived at the scene, the super flailed his arms and refused to cooperate, the NYPD said.

The arresting officers had to subdue him “by taking him to the ground,” police said.

The victim was taken to Lenox Hill Healthplex for treatment, the NYPD said.

The super, who was charged with assault, was taken to Bellevue Hospital for treatment, police said.

One of the men used brass knuckles, the NYPD said. The 20-year-old was taken to Lenox Hill Healthplex for treatment.

► A 30-year-old man told police he parked his $5,800 Vespa scooter at the southwest corner of West 17th Street and 10th Avenue around 8:30 p.m. on July 2. When he returned the next day around 10 a.m., the scooter was gone.
