HARLEM — A boy threw a bucket of water over a man and hit him before fleeing the scene, police said.

The assault took place July 6 at about 9:30 p.m. when a 50-year-old man was approached by the teen, who he said looked about 13, on Lexington Ave and East 122nd Street, police said.

The boy was carrying a bucket of water which was thrown at the victim, then the teen struck the man with an unknown object and fled on foot, police said.

The victim suffered a laceration on his face which also caused his face to swell, police said.

Police searched the area, including a nearby apartment building on Lexington Avenue, but did not find the suspect.

The man was transported to Mount Sinai Hospital for treatment, police said.

The suspect was wearing a black sweat shirt or sports jacket, police said.
