THE BRONX — A subway groper apologized to a woman after he grabbed her aboard a 2 train in Claremont Village Tuesday morning, police said.

The suspect, who's in his late 20s, was aboard a Manhattan-bound train at the 174th Street station about 5:25 a.m. when he groped the 27-year-old woman next to him, NYPD officials said.

The victim confronted him, so he apologized and left the train at Prospect Avenue, police said.

He was described as weighing about 220 pounds and was last seen wearing a light sweater with blue jeans and a yellow metal necklace, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
