CHELSEA — A man was punched in the face after he knocked over a pie and started fighting with a security guard at Artichoke Basille’s Pizza on 10th Avenue, the NYPD said.

The 24-year-old victim, from Brooklyn, told police he was involved in a dispute with a 28-year-old Staten Island man inside the pizzeria at 114 10th Ave. around 5:30 a.m. on July 2 when the man punched him in the face.

At some point, the 24-year-old knocked over a pizza pie and fought with someone handling security at the eatery, the NYPD said.

The 28-year-old was arrested and received a desk appearance ticket, police said.

It was not clear whether or not the men were patrons.

Around 6:30 a.m. the same morning, a man of an unknown age was walking out of the restaurant with a box of pizza when two other men knocked the box out of his hands, police said.

The pair have harassed customers and staff at the eatery before, the NYPD said.

A manager at the eatery could not be reached for comment on Thursday.

Other notable crimes in this week’s blotter from the 10th Precinct in Chelsea include:

► A drunk passenger punched a yellow taxi driver in the back of the head after becoming “irate” inside the cab, police said. The 31-year-old cabdriver from Jersey City told police he picked the woman up at a hotel on East 43rd Street around 9 p.m. on June 29. As they approached the northwest corner of West 30th Street and Ninth Avenue, the woman became “irate” and “aggressive,” and punched the driver, police said. The driver suffered from blurred vision after the incident, and the woman fled the scene.

► A drunk 30-year-old man punched a 40-year-old man in the face after the older man tried to break up a fight between the intoxicated man and a female employee who works inside the IAC Building at 555 W. 18th St., between 10th and 11th avenues, police said. The fight, which took place in front of the building, left the 40-year-old with a small abrasion on his cheek. The 30-year-old was arrested and received a desk appearance ticket, police said.

► A thief stole about $800 from the cash register at The Dish at 201 Eighth Ave., between West 20th and West 21st streets, after entering the eatery and asking to use the bathroom around 11:40 p.m. on July 2, police said. The man pretended to look at a menu and opened the cash register when a Dish employee left to help a customer, the NYPD said. An employee working at The Dish on Thursday said he wasn’t aware the incident had happened.
