MIDTOWN — A thief stole more than $700 worth of nail polish and cosmetics from a Duane Reade by stuffing the items in his pants, police said.

The suspect walked into the store at 900 Eighth Ave., between West 53rd and West 54th streets, around 8:57 p.m. on July 1, the NYPD said.

Surveillance footage shows him taking 19 bottles of Essie nail polish worth $162, 35 tubes of Revlon lipstick worth $439, eight tubes of Revlon Ultra HD lipstick worth $72, a Neutrogena lip gloss valued at $24 and four L’Oréal mascaras worth $36 off the shelves and stashing them in his pants, a Duane Reade employee told police.

The thief walked out of the store with the merchandise — worth a total of $733 — hidden in his pants, the NYPD said.

A manager working at the Duane Reade on Tuesday declined to comment on the theft.

In May, police released a photo of a thief they said stole more than $6,000 worth of Essie nail polish from two Duane Reades on three separate occasions.

The man had not been arrested as of May 4.
