MANHATTAN — A crash in the Lincoln Tunnel caused serious delays for commuters trying to leave the city for the Fourth of July weekend Friday, according to the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

All lanes were blocked in the Lincoln Tunnel North Tube heading into New Jersey due to the crash, which the Port Authority website first reported at 6:05 p.m. There were injuries in the crash, but the number and severity were not immediately apparent.

At one point the crash caused delayed of at least 45 minutes in the North Tube, according to Port Authority.

The agency's website reported that all lanes were cleared around 7:20 and traffic was moving again with residual delays.
