WILLIAMSBURG — A motorcyclist was seriously injured after colliding with an SUV at a busy Williamsburg intersection Thursday afternoon, witnesses and FDNY officials said.

The driver of the car, who would only give his first name, Rafael, told DNAinfo New York he was turning left from Metropolitan Avenue onto Graham Avenue a little before 5 p.m. when the motorcycle came speeding by.

"It was fast, as I'm turning just airbags go off," Rafael said. "Honestly I have no idea where he possibly came out of. There's nothing I could have done."

Rafael said the rider of the Triumph motorcycle skidded across the intersection and up onto the sidewalk before coming to a stop on a nearby massage parlor on the corner.

"He was going way too fast to even slow down — that's how fast he was going," the SUV driver said.

The motorcyclist's leg appeared to be broken, according to witness Michael Lamarca.

"I just heard a huge crash and I came to the window and he was already up against [the doorway]," Lamarca said. "The guy's leg was completely twisted in half. When I saw him he was just laying backwards in the doorway."

The motorcyclist was taken to Bellevue Hospital in serious condition, fire officials said.
