NEW YORK CITY — There were major delays and canceled trains on the LIRR during the Tuesday evening rush after a truck struck a bridge just west of the Woodside station, according to officials.
A W.B. Mason hit the LIRR overpass near 59th Street and 39th Avenue in Queens a little after 7 p.m., according to the MTA's website and a witness. There were disruptions on eastbound trains out of Penn Station and all westbound service temporarily terminated at Jamaica.
Customers should expect eastbound cancellations and delays of up to 1 hour due to a truck striking an LIRR bridge west of Woodside.
