PARK SLOPE — Longtime U.S. Representative Nydia Velazquez will face two challengers in the Democratic primary in New York's 7th Congressional District on Tuesday.

Velazquez will run against Yungman Lee and Jeff Kurzon.

The winner will face Republican Allan Romaguera in the Nov. 8, 2016 general election.

Velazquez, first elected in 1992, was the first Puerto Rican woman in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Lee is a Chinatown banker who has said the 7th District needs "new faces, new ideas and new energy."  Lee has never held office before and has named tax cuts for small businesses as one of his priorities if elected.

Kurzon, a lawyer, also ran against Velazquez in 2014 and refused campaign contributions from political action committees or lobbying groups. He calls himself a "Berniecrat," referring to Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Only registered Democrats are allowed to vote in Tuesday's primary.

The 7th District covers parts of Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens and includes parts of Park Slope, Gowanus, Sunset Park, Red Hook, Bushwick, Williamsburg, Maspeth, Ridgewood, Ozone Park, the Lower East Side and Chinatown.

Polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m.

To find your polling place, check the NYC Board of Elections website.
