HARLEM – Officials are calling it a win-win.
Police bought 61 guns at a cash-for-guns event held at Harlem’s Abyssinian Baptist Church at 132 W. 138th St. Saturday.
Thirty-two revolvers, 11 semi-automatic handguns, an assault weapon, 3 rifles, 1 shotgun and 13 air rifles were collected, officials said.
Participants received a $200 pre-paid card for each handgun or assault rifle turned over and those turning in rifles, shotguns or air guns received a $25 card.
At a previous gun buyback event in May, police collected 81 guns, officials said.
The buyback was part an anti-violence initiative held in partnership with the NYPD and non-profits Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. and One Hundred Black Men of New York, the DA's office said.
