MOTT HAVEN — The South Bronx Farmers Market will return on June 18 for its third year in the borough.

The market, located on 138th Street between Wills and Alexander Avenues, features nine vendors this year, including Taylor Made Creations and Red Hibiscus Bakery, which will sell baked goods from The Bronx, and Cochran Dairy, which will sell beef from free-grazing cows, according to Lily Kesselman, director of the farmers market.

"I don’t know of any other pastured meat farmer in the South Bronx, so that’s exciting," Kesselman said.

The market will also feature hands-on cooking demonstrations for children every Saturday from July 9 to Oct. 22 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. to try encouraging kids to eat more fruits and vegetables.

"It’s free," Kesselman said of the demonstrations. "They don’t need to make a reservation or anything."

The South Bronx Farmers Market will be open every Saturday from June 18 through Nov. 19 between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., and food stamps will be accepted.
