CHELSEA — A woman lost her severely injured leg after she fell onto the tracks at a 14th Street station and was hit by a 3 train, the second of two accidental subway falls Thursday night, police said.

The 36-year-old woman, whose name wasn't immediately released, was on the southbound platform of the station at Seventh Avenue about 10:23 p.m. when she accidentally fell onto the tracks, an NYPD spokesman said.

A 3 train hit her, severely injuring her legs, police said. One leg was amputated, the spokesman said.

She was treated for critical injuries at Bellevue Hospital where she's listed in stable condition, police said.

Investigators don't believe she was the victim of a crime, NYPD officials said.

In a grim coincidence, a man who accidentally fell into subway tracks just a block away was pinned against the platform by a train an hour earlier, police said.

The man, 23, who fell into the tracks at 14th Street and Eighth Avenue about 9:30 p.m., tried to pull himself onto the platform when the northbound E train pinned him, police said.

He was treated at Bellevue, where he's listed in stable condition as well, police said.
