BROOKLYN — A man was fatally shot in the head in Bed-Stuy on Wednesday afternoon, according to the NYPD and FDNY.

Robert Thomas, 46, was standing in front of 207 MacDougal St. near Thomas S Boyland Street at about 5:55 p.m. when a person drove up and shot him at least one time in the head, a police spokesman said.

Thomas, who lived nearby, was taken to Interfaith Medical Center where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

There were no immediate arrests, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.

Winston Noel, 70, a retired maintenance worker for the city, has lived around the corner from where the shooting happened since 1997.

"With all the crazy things going around now, I'm scared," he said, adding that there have been several shootings in the area in recent years.
