WEST VILLAGE — Two women attacked a karaoke bar employee after their friend was carded trying to get in, police said.

The women came into Karaoke BoHo at 186 West Fourth St. about midnight on June 2 and started fighting with the 41-year-old bar employee over checking their friend's ID, police said.

One woman, 21, hit the employee in the head with a glass Corona bottle, leaving him with cuts, bruises and swelling, police said, and the other woman, 25, punched him in the head.

The 21-year-old woman was charged with assault with intent to cause physical injury, attempted assault and assault recklessly causing physical injury, all misdemeanors, plus a violation for harassment in the second degree.

She was released by a judge without bail and in due back in court on June 27. Her lawyer did not immediately return a voicemail seeking comment.

The 25-year-old woman was issued a desk appearance ticket.
