BROOKLYN — What a genius.

A young man unwittingly uploaded a shirtless selfie to the iCloud account of an L train rider whose iPhone he stole, police said Friday.

The man, who police said is in his 20s, was on the Manhattan-bound L train as it pulled into the Morgan Avenue stop about 1:30 a.m. June 2 when he swiped an iPhone from a 30-year-old woman's hands and bolted onto the platform and out of the station, NYPD officials said.

Later, the man took a photo of himself without a shirt on, which was then uploaded to the victim's iCloud account, police said.

He's about 5 feet 7 inches tall and 160 pounds, officials said.

He was wearing a gray hoodie and camouflage pants when he stole the phone, police said.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-TIPS (8477).
