BROOKLYN — Police released a picture of a man they say tried to kidnap an 11-year-old girl as she walked home from school in Gravesend Wednesday.
The man grabbed the girl's shoulder and backpack as she walked on Highlawn Avenue and West 7th Street about 2:50 p.m. but she fought him off, the NYPD said. He fled on foot.
He’s described as white, between 25 and 30 years old and 6 feet tall. He was wearing a black jacket, black hoodie, grey sweatpants and black sneakers at the time.
