UPPER EAST SIDE — The MTA has announced some service tweaks to subways and buses intended to minimize transit chaos ahead of a pair of uptown celebrations this weekend.

On Saturday, the 116th Street 6 train stop will serve as just an exit from noon to 5 p.m. in order to prevent overcrowding on stairways and platforms during the 116th Street Festival. Straphangers hoping to get on at the stop will instead have to go to either 110th Street or 125th Street.

The M101 bus, M102, M103, M116, BxM1, BxM6, BxM7, BxM8, BxM9, BxM10 and BxM11 will also be rerouted. The MTA advised commuters to check its website for specific changes to the route.

On Sunday, the 6 train stop at 77th Street will be exit only from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. because of the Puerto Rican Day Parade.

Riders should go to the 68th Street or 86th Street stops or to Fifth Avenue stops on the E, F, N, R and 7 lines. Service on the 2, 4, 5, 6 and S lines will increase for the parade, the MTA said.

The M1 bus, M2, M3, M4, M5, M31, M50, M57, M66, M72, Q32, BxM2, BxM3, BxM4, BxM6, BxM7, BxM8, BxM9, BxM10, BxM11, QM2, QM4, QM5, QM6, X1, X10 and X17 will all be rerouted.

The MTA asked straphangers to check its website for specific changes to the route.
